Chapter Exit Ticket

The exit ticket appears at the bottom of every chapter. It takes under 90 seconds and serves two purposes:

  1. Student reflection — a quick confidence check so students leave the chapter with a clear sense of where they stand.
  2. Community accuracy feedback — a structured way for Dakota-speaking students, family members, or community members to flag language errors or confirm correct content.

How It Works

The widget is a single parameterized HTML file (main.html) embedded via <iframe> with URL query parameters that set the chapter title and teacher email address. No backend is required.

Parameter Purpose Example
chapter Chapter key for identifying feedback 01-hau
title Human-readable chapter name shown in the header Greetings & Identity
email Pre-fills the mailto: link for feedback submission teacher@school.edu

Four Steps (< 90 seconds)

  1. Confidence rating — 5-point emoji scale (😕 → 🌟)
  2. Accuracy check — Did anything seem incorrect, unrecognized, or confirmed accurate?
  3. Detail (if flagging or confirming) — Free-text note + Dakota language background
  4. Done — Pre-filled email link to send feedback directly to the course teacher

For Teachers

When a student submits feedback, their email app opens with a pre-formatted message including: - Chapter name - Confidence level - Accuracy assessment - Their specific note (if any) - Their language background

Feedback from heritage speakers or community members carries the highest weight for accuracy corrections and should be forwarded to the cultural liaison.
