Tips for Independent Study

If you miss a session: Don't try to cram two sessions into one. Just pick up where you left off. The pacing is a guide, not a rule.

If you're confused: 1) Re-read the section. 2) Check the FAQ. 3) Use the Glossary. 4) Use the Exit Ticket to ask your teacher.

If a noun feels wrong: Check the Glossary for its animacy (AN or IN). If you think the animacy is marked wrong, use the Exit Ticket — you may be right.

If something seems wrong in the language: Use the Exit Ticket. If you have Ojibwe language background, your correction is especially valuable.

Before every quiz: Make sure your Completion Checklist shows mostly 🟢 and ⭐. If you have mostly 🔴, do not take the quiz yet — go back and practice.

Animacy rule: Every time you see a new noun, say its animacy aloud: "makwa — bear — animate." You cannot skip this step.
